The Legal Assistance of Western NY Re-Entry Project assists persons reentering society and with criminal records, especially related to employment discrimination and assistance with employment clearances through the Department of Health and other government agencies. Provides assistance for admission to public or subsidized housing and multiple other services.
Focus on “Collateral Sanctions” or “Collateral Consequences of Criminal Sanctions”. Often involves applying for Certificates of Relief from Disability, and/or applying to correct and or to seal criminal records.

Assess and identify barriers and needs of high risk offenders recently released from the Federal Bureau of Prisons custody into our communities. The Reentry Court participants will be linked with services specific to their needs including; treatment, employment, life skills training, and education programs in order to reduce the likelihood of recidivism and promote successful reintegration into the community.
