For Landlords and Property Managers: Check out opportunities for rentals on the website of The Housing Council of the Rochester Area.
B. A note from Ann Graham: Dear Reentry Partners: When we started down this road together, almost two years ago, one of our goals was to increase beds available to men and women in reentry. Since that time we have added 30 parolee beds at Francis Center; more than 48 beds at Altamont House, Neilsen House, The Lighthouse, and Rev. Terry King's facility on Monroe and Amherst; 4 - 6 private apartments funded by the Office of Mental Health for men or women reentering who have serious, persistent mental illness (these beds also give us the funds to furnish the apartments and provide an intensive mental health case manager); and, after an extremely successful landlord breakfast last week attended by almost 80 landlords, access to more than 100 private housing units that were previously unavailable to our population due to public perceptions. Many thanks to everyone who continues to push the boundaries of what is possible. Originally disseminated May 12, 2008, by email. Also see Offender Reentry/Transition. NIC reports on reentry, e.g. on its New York page. This framework is supported by evidence accumulated, in part, by meta-analytical studies of Edward J. Latessa, Ph.D., Professor and head, Division of Criminal Justice, University of Cincinatti. [Top] =========================================== © SMART 2010 |
